We currently have exciting opportunities for people to get involved in an engaging, decision-making trustee role for Girlguiding Wirral, a charity that is committed to helping all girls know that they can do anything.
Girlguiding has a rich history of over 110 years, the Wirral county is a charity in its own right and was set up in 1971. Girlguiding provides girls with opportunities to explore, have fun and know that they belong. Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community. We currently have over 3,200 members of which around 750 are adult volunteers.
The charity is governed by a board of trustees who will meet on a regular basis to provide strategic direction, oversight of the work of the charity and to give support to the Chair of Trustees.
We are looking for people who are not members of Girlguiding but who align with our values and have a variety of experience in areas such as governance and leadership, property management, financial management, operations of a business or charity, digital expertise, marketing, fundraising and equality, diversity, and inclusion. Please do not feel that you need all of those skills to be considered for the role.
The volunteers of Girlguiding Wirral are passionate and committed to ensuring all our young members know they can do anything; and we encourage the trustees to engage with the members to understand more about us as an organisation. By understanding who we are and what we do, we believe a trustee will be able to bring their skills and experience to helping us grow as a youth organisation and making us more robust as a charity.
Any questions should be directed to Jenny, the chair of trustees and lead volunteer for Girlguiding Wirral via cc@girlguidingwirral.org.uk
